St Mary Church, Kippington Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 2LL

The Church is located half-way along Kippington Road, a private residential road, which runs from Sevenoaks Station, for a mile and a half, finally emerging at the bottom of Oak Lane.  St Mary Church was consecrated in June 1878, having been designed and built by the Thompson family who lived in Kippington at the time. A lot of care and thought by the family went into the construction of the Church and a booklet has been produced which highlights a lot of this detail. We are still using the original pews and Choir stalls.

Every Sunday, there is an 8.00am Holy Communion Service, which is always taken from the Book of Common Prayer. The 10.30am Sunday service is our main service of the week. On the first Sunday of every month, we hold a Family Service in the Church Centre; on the second and fourth Sundays we have Holy Communion which is taken from Common Worship.  On the third Sunday, we have a very traditional Matins service which is taken from the Book of Common Prayer.  If there is a fifth Sunday, the service is sometimes Holy Communion with Healing, or Morning Prayer in the Celtic tradition. On the first Sunday of every month, there is also an evening service at 6.30pm, which is held in the Church.

During the week, there is a chance to gather together on Thursdays for Holy Communion at 10.00am, followed by a chat over a cup of coffee and perhaps a biscuit or two.

For those of our Church family who are too young to enjoy the services, there is a Creche available every Sunday, as well as our much-loved Sunday Club and Kippington Youth Group.

There is also a very informal drop-in every Wednesday in the Church Centre. This runs from 10.00-11.30 and is geared towards children who are pre-school age. It is a wonderful chance for the children to make new friends and play, while parents or carers sit and relax over a cup of freshly brewed coffee or put the world to rights.

Our Kippington Youth Group not only meets during the Sunday morning services, but also one Sunday evening a month on a more social footing. Activities can include bowling in Tunbridge Wells, a home-spun bar-b-que, a film night or pancake creations, to name just a few.

If you were thinking of paying us a visit, you are assured of a very warm welcome. We would love to have your company.

St Luke's is a church which stands at the heart of a lively community as it has done for more than one hundred years. Our worship is of a central Anglican nature with a choral style of music and strong lay participation, as well as a tradition of thoughtful preaching. We are a welcoming congregation covering all ages who are committed to caring for one another and showing the love of God in word and action. As a Church, we seek to integrate our faith into our everyday lives and to discuss issues of importance in society from a Christian perspective and to experience the Christian faith through encounter with the living God. St Luke's is a place where, in the company of others on their pilgrim way, men and women have been able to think, to pray and to seek after God and find Him
